Diplomas for 14 to 19 age group

Diplomas are a new qualification for 14-19 year old aimed at preparing them for university or employment.

 

The aim is for the Diploma courses to be:

  • Practical – it prepares them for work through an industry-driven curriculum toolkit of transferrable skills.
  • Relevant – because it has been designed in partnership with more than 5,000 employers.
  • Exciting – because it is building up talents for future needs through innovative and exciting teaching methods.

The Clacton and Tendring 14-19 Planning Group held a Breakfast Briefing on Thursday 22 October 2009 called Changes in 14-19 Education and the benefits to business of engaging in education.

Uttlesford

On Thursday 04 June 2009 from 7.30am until 9.00am at The Saffron Screen, Saffron Walden County High School, Audley End Road, Saffron Walden, CB11 4UH the Uttlesford 14-19 Partnership held a Diploma Business Breakfast Briefing for local business people.

The Diploma is a new qualification for 14 to 19 year old students and relies on partnership with the business community.

This Business Breakfast Briefing gave details of the first two Diplomas to be launched in all Uttlesford schools from September 2009 - the Diploma in Business, Administration and Finance and the Diploma in Information Technology.

 

The Uttlesford 14 to 19 Partnership has prepared a briefing for employers to provide them with more information.
