Essex County Council has identified Engineering and Manufacturing as the key sectors for growth in the county and aims to increase the number of apprenticeships available in these sectors.
Essex Scheme
Under the scheme Essex County Council will employ 120 young people as engineering and manufacturing apprentices while they undertake a one year Level II apprenticeship.
Companies are invited to contribute to a Timebank of work placements with apprentices spending at least 12 weeks in the workplace.
The project reduces the risk to companies by employing and paying the full costs of apprentices.
Certain conditions apply to the scheme and more information is available from Glynis Argue at Essex County Council
