Essex County Council is making around 1,750 new apprenticeships available in both the public and private sectors over the next three years.
Essex FSB is working in partnership with Essex County Council to ensure that the scheme is accessible to small businesses.
Costs
The cost of training an apprentice is usually 100 per cent funded by central Government.

Eligibility
To be eligible under the scheme the apprentice must be based in the area served by Essex County Council although the business concerned can be based in neighbouring local authorities including Havering, Hertfordshire, Redbridge, Southend-on-Sea, Suffolk or Thurrock.
National Scheme
There are more than 180 different career choices where apprenticeships are available.
For apprentices in the 16 to 18 age group businesses receive 100 per cent of the training costs; for apprentices over the age of 19 up to 50 per cent of the training costs will be funded.
