Brighton & Hove AGM

Brighton and Hove Branch AGM

Trevor and teamThe AGM took place at Mithras House, University of Brighton. The current Committee (key members pictured with Trevor Freeman, left) were given a vote of confidence and re-elected to their positions.  Trevor Freeman, Branch Chairman, spoke of sponsorship and recruitment successes at the Brighton and Hove business show, strong links with the University and the recent inaugural meeting with the new Green administration.

The meeting was followed by ‘fun and games' as business members and University students tackled a marketing exercise to set up a service that measured Politicians performance! Guest of honour Dr Clifford Conway of the Brighton Business School supported Trevor Freeman in enlightening the audience on the key points.

News from Brighton and Hove City

Trevor Freeman and Martin Searle met Bill Randall, Leader and Amy Kennedy, Deputy Leader of the new Green administration, recently.  Topics discussed included parking charges, business rates, transport, inward investment and planning issues in the City.  The administration listened carefully to the small business viewpoint and a further meeting will be planned for early in 2012.

The branch sponsored the Brighton and Hove business show at the Hilton Metropole Hotel on the seafront.  The event had good footfall and as a result 100s of businesses attended the FSB stand, either existing members with questions or non-members wanting to join and enjoy the many benefits of membership.
