Introduction

The FSB has around 16,000 members within the East Midlands.  The Area Policy Unit represents the interests of small businesses with the regional tier of government.  Its boundaries mirror the Government's East Midlands region.  Elected members and staff work with key bodies such as the Regional Development Agency (emda) and the Government Office for the East Midlands to highlight issues of concern to small businesses.  They also work with them to help create an environment that fully supports small business growth and sustainability.

Have Your Say

Apart from our survey results, the FSB in the East Midlands also uses the views and actual experience of our members to lobby MPs, MEPs, Government funded agencies and the Bank of England for change that will benefit small businesses.  We have set-up a brand new section on our website called 'Have Your Say', where members can give us their opinions more easily.

Over the coming months we will be asking members to give us their comments and experiences on various topics.  These topics will include regulation, broadband, transport and local Government.  We will also be asking our members on what changes or schemes would most help their business.

We will be posting the opinions of our members on the 'Have Your Say' webpages for others to view.  To preserve anonymity, we will not publish the member's name or business name - only the member's nearest town.  The comments and suggestions that we receive will be used to lobby for change that will benefit small businesses.

To kick off with, we would like to know what our members think about the current education system, and what needs to change:

So take a look at the Have Your Say on Education page to see what members have said already.
