>Job Centre Reform

The Jobcentre Plus will be reformed and equipped to tackle rising unemployment, and cater to small businesses. This is a result of the FSB campaign launch last summer which showed one in three small businesses find Jobcentre Plus ineffective.  Read more

> Graduate Internships

Since June 2009 the Federation of Small Businesses has been actively campaigning for a Graduate Internships Scheme to bring graduates and small businesses together to create work experience, create jobs and help small businesses innovate. The Government has officially supported our campaign and the FSB will be working hard to promote internships in small businesses. Read the Government Press Release. > Stopping Regulation:

In the current economic climate the FSB believes small businesses need a stable environment in which to operate. In 2009 the Government should review proposed changes to regulations and delay costly regulatory changes. Read More

 

> National Minimum Wage

In October 2009 the National Minimum wage will go up to £5.80 an hour for adults. The FSB is currently campaigning for a freeze in the National Minimum wage in 2010.
