East Cornwall Branch Hold a Meeting at an Unusual Venue...
A lively branch meeting took place on Monday 16th January at Rising Sun Nurseries at Harrowbarrow by kind permission
of FSB Member Mr Alan Elias (far right). Items discussed were, events for the coming year (coming up - 16th Feb, Networking at Trenython Manor near Fowey and 28th March an MP Briefing with Dan Rogerson at Budehaven Hotel, Bude), policy issues such as food labeling, repackaging of non-British food to be relabeled British produce, fuel prices, supermarkets and the Real Life Entrepreneur campaign. They also put views forward in response to a consultation on Employment Sites as well as the usual agreement of minutes and actions from the last meeting. Alan provided the refreshments and the chocolate biscuits were a very nice touch. Thanks Alan and it is the first meeting we have had in a tea room in a greenhouse. Very enjoyable it was too! If you would like to attend one of your local branch meetings, why not contact your local branch secretary. Details can be found on your branch page on the side menu.
The Jan 2012 East Cornwall Branch Meeting
West Cornwall Branch AGM
The last AGM in for branches in Cornwall was held on Tuesday 10th January. The West Cornwall team for 2012 can be found on their branch pages. There was an excellent talk by Ian Jones and Des Prouse of Goonhilly Earth Station outlining the plans they have for the site that they are resurrecting after a two year struggle to lease the site after BT shut it down in 2006. An amazing story see the latest BBC report for details.

Mid Cornwall Branch Sign up New Member on i-phone
Sarah Dell has become the first Cornwall member to join the FSB at an event online! At the regional AGM event, Sarah, who had had the FSB recommended to her by a business friend, decided to test the new online joining system and sign up there and then.
Sarah promptly got out her mobile, connected to the internet and within a few minutes she was a member!
What was even more exciting was that Sarah was so pleased that the FSB showed itself as a highly professional and in touch organisation, she decided to join the local Mid Cornwall Branch Committee as an activist.
In joining the FSB Sarah gets access to a wealth of benefits and the FSB gains another in the long line of Real Life Entrepreneurs who want to help the FSB in creating a culture of positive change for the small business community.
