The Chancellor, George Osborne MP and Business Secretary, Vince Cable MP addressed around 200 FSB members, small firms and politicians at the FSB's Annual Chairman's Dinner.
The Business Secretary told guests that the Government was trying to ‘fix the plumbing' of the finance industry to get credit flowing to small firms. And on the recent mis-selling of complex loans to small firms, he said: ‘Did some bankers knowingly commit fraud when they mis-sold these swaps?' and hopes that the redress scheme will help to fix the issue.
Both Ministers praised the FSB for its work. The Chancellor commented that this March's Budget will be unashamedly business focused, so the FSB looks forward to working with him to raise the voice of its members.
