YOUNG BUSINESS PERSON OF THE YEAR
For business people aged 30 or less (by 1st June 2012) who have demonstrated a high degree
of entrepreneurship, creativity and vision for the future.
Entrants will be asked to explain the
background to the business, how the company has performed since starting and what its future
projections are.
You must be able to show how your business has progressed in line with your business plan and
what potential there is for growth. Success will be demonstrated by your clear understanding of your
marketplace, your position within it and your ability to work with internal and external stakeholders,
as appropriate. You will be required to show leadership qualities, and good managerial and
financial practice.
You should also demonstrate your creativity, entrepreneurialism and your
enthusiasm for new ideas. A consciousness of self-development and ability to reflect on your own
journey is essential.
The judges will be looking to identify a business that has set and achieved objectives within its
business plans, overcome obstacles and established a position of sustainable profitability and
success. In addition to this judges will want to see an understanding of the relationship between
your own development and the success of the business.
