David Miles

David has been an FSB member since 2006 and has served in a directorial role since 2008 – including on the former Executive Board and more recently as a Non-Operational Director.

David has been an FSB volunteer almost as long as he has been a member, serving at branch, regional and National level in a variety of roles including Branch and Regional chair and also as Chairman of FSB Publications, which is responsible for the creation and publication of FSB’s First Voice magazine. He has worked closely with FSB on a number of its major projects, including leading the successful bid to secure funding for FSB’s modernisation project, the introduction of online subscriptions and working on strategic changes to FSB’s recruitment process, online marketing and approach to social media.

David is a digital marketing consultant, trainer, and published author. For the past 11 years he has owned and run digital marketing agencies and training businesses which have provided training and consultancy on Google AdWords, SEO, web analytics, social media marketing, website design, and conversion rate optimisation to businesses large and small across the UK and Europe. 

Today David is the founder and Managing Director of The PPC Machine, a boutique agency that helps medical professionals grow their practices using pay per click advertising platforms.

In 2010 David was awarded an Honorary Fellowship of the Institute of Enterprise and Entrepreneurs for his contribution to UK enterprise.

David lives in Essex with his family (and a ‘very large and stupid’ dog). His background and understanding of digital media and marketplace have proven instrumental to FSB’s modernisation process and he brings an extremely valuable set of skills and knowledge to the Board.
