Membership related FAQ

You can download your receipt for payment of FSB Membership by logging into the "Your Account" section of the website and following the instructions from there. 
Welcome packs can take up to three weeks to reach you. If you have not received your pack, you can call Customer Services on: 0808 20 20 888, between 8am and 6pm Monday to Friday, excluding Bank Holidays. Or email them: customerservices@fsb.org.uk. They will respond within 48 hours of receiving your enquiry. 

You can find your membership number printed on the back of your membership card, on your membership certificate and on any renewal documentation sent in the post, or via email.
The membership payment is VAT exempt. However you can download a receipt  for your membership by logging into the "My account" section of the the FSB Website using your member number and password. The receipt will be available 5 working days after payment has been received. 

Please note only Business Creation and Business Essentials members are able to display the 'FSB Member' logo. If you are not a member and would still like to use FSB's logos for editorial use, please contact customer services.

To access and download the logo, you’ll need to log in with your member number and password and visit our download area. Remember, once downloaded to save to your PC, laptop, MAC, smartphone, or other deceives.

Use of FSB’s Member logo is to show your affiliation to FSB and is not a recommendation, or endorsement on behalf of the FSB.


Welcome to FSB!

You'll have received an email to the email address you registered with, directing you to a page on our website where you'll be asked to enter your member number (in your welcome email) and postcode.

Once submitted, a onetime use link will be issued to the registered email address. This will allow you to set a password of your choice.

The onetime link expires after 48 hours. If your link expires, you'll need to repeat the process.

You can set up a Direct Debit in three easy steps:

Call our Customer Service team on: 0808 20 20 888 between 8am and 6pm, Monday to Friday, excluding Bank Holidays and they can get you setup with a Direct Debit payment.

If you are within a month of your membership renewal date, you can also renewal and setup your Direct Debit online by logging in to your account and clicking "My Account" in the top right corner.  Please note the online option will only be available if you are within a month of your renewal date. If you are unsure please call the Customer Services Team who will assist you through it.

My Account FAQ

Please do let us know as soon as your details change to ensure we get key information about your membership to you.

You can update your details by logging in and clicking 'My Account'. Please have your member number and password to hand to log in.

If at any time you lose or forget your password, don’t worry, you can easily reset it by visiting www.fsb.org.uk click the 'Login' button and then the ‘forgotten password’ link under the login box.

You’ll be directed to the ‘forgotten password’ page where you’ll need to enter your membership number and primary postcode. Once entered, an email with a one use 48 hour expiry password reset link will be sent to the email address you registered with.

You then need to click the link when prompted to assign a new password.

Once a password has been generated, you’ll receive a confirmation email confirming that the password has been changed."

Business Essentials Members can access a team of qualified UK-based lawyers on the legal advice Line: 03450 727 727, available 24/7.

You have a range of specifically negotiated member benefits. Please login and check the 'Benefits' section for a full explanation of how to claim each benefit. 

You can access the documents by logging in to your account on the FSB website. You will find the link under the 'Online Legal Documents' section by hovering your mouse over the "My account" section in the top right hand corner or if you're using a mobile or tablet, click the person icon on the top right of the screen.

If you are thinking of taking on an employee, there are a selection of contracts available to download in the FSB Resources section.

You can contact the Development Manager for your Region whose details can be found on the 'FSB Regions' section of the website.

The legal and tax cover you receive as part of your Business Essentials Membership is available on your legal protection insurance certificate which came with your welcome pack, or you can view an electronic copy in the 'My Account' area of FSB’s website.

Alternatively, you can call the legal claims team: 01253 336 026 between 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday, excluding Bank Holidays. Remember to phone before you act.

We can offer you two options. If you are a Business Essentials Member, the first option is to call the legal advice line on: 03450 727 727, available 24/7. Remember to have your membership number to hand when calling.

The second is to access your FSB Online Legal Documents and utilise one of the templates.  This is available for both Business Creation and Business Essentials Members. Don't forget you will need to log in with your member number and password.

Yes. All of your member benefits are active from the time your payment was accepted. 

The details of which can be found in your welcome pack, which will be with you within the next three weeks. You can also view your benefits by logging onto our website.

Remember, you’ll need to create a password first, then you will be able to log in to the website and access your benefits, including essential legal documents and templates.

The team will guide you through the process and what you need to do next.

Yes. Because your FSB membership is tied to you and not the business, you are able to use all the benefits of membership (including the legal protection cover) for any company that you are a director, or a partner in, as long as the total number of employees for all businesses combined does not exceed 249 – as per the terms of membership.

No. The investigation will be handled by FSB’s Legal Services team.

However, should the team need any information from your accountant, a fee is agreed between them and will be covered by our legal protection insurance. You can view a copy of the legal protection insurance certificate in the 'My Account' section of FSB’s website.

To make a claim under the legal insurance, you will need to call the legal claims team on: 01253 336 026 between 9pm and 5pm Monday to Friday, excluding Bank Holidays. Please have your Business Essentials Membership number to hand when calling.
