The West of Scotland region has had activists on both Islay and Mull for three years with the aim of having local contact points and members who keep us informed of local issues, which can often be peculiar to specific areas with islands having special issues such as ferry fares and time tables. It was decided a short while ago to investigate the possibilty of giving our island members a practical forum to discuss and tackle their problems and concerns. We have created the "Inner Hebrides" grouping within the region. The activists on both Islay and Mull have agreed to start the ball rolling by working together.

 

In the future, if the grouping proves fruitful we will look at linking with our colleagues in Highlands and Islands region and the Outer Hebrides and Shetland and Orkney.
