FSB members descend on parliament to Keep Trade Local
Faced with the loss of 50,000 small shops by 2015, the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) has launched a national campaign to ‘Keep Trade Local'.
The year-long campaign was kicked off with a mass lobby of parliament and launch of a petition on the 10 Downing Street website.
Over 200 FSB members were greeted by Conservative leader, David Cameron, who expressed his support for the campaign. They went on to meet with their MPs, calling for changes to planning regulations, an end to anti-competitive practices and an independent body to oversee retail development.
“We are calling on everyone to sign our online petition to secure the future of small shops and safeguard the choice and competition people expect.” Click here to Sign the petition today
Have you been affected by crime?
Do any members have good case studies of what happens when a business is forced out of an area because of crime, or equally what happens when they're brought back in to regenerate?
The London Office is looking for information for inclusion in an FSB Crime Publication. Please contact Rosina Robson at the London Office. Email or Tel: 020 7592 8104
Do you want to network with 21,000+ other businesses?
There is an On Line Forum on the main FSB Website where members can enter their thoughts and opinions. There are two sections, one which is open to anyone and another which is confined only to members. Why not log in, have a look and join in the discussions?
